I came across Specialist Glass Repair in 2018 after several months of looking into
setting up my own business. I read all about the SGR franchise and it appealed to me and therefore I called Phil Wells and we had an informal chat about the opportunity.
Phil invited me to meet him for a one to one franchise discovery day. It was then I got to see his technician repairing chipped windscreens at an airport car rental depot. Afterwards we had an in-depth discussion about the opportunity and I drove home very excited, knowing that this is the perfect franchise for me.
I obtained finance to purchase my franchise through a Government backed business start-up loan. Everything was there for me to write a great business plan and Phil helped me with this by providing me with all the relevant information.
The City set up comprised of a week’s workshop training in Epsom. Mostly hands on getting to know the different types of damage and the repair process for each. By the end of the first week I had the basic skills, knowledge and all of my kit in my newly sign-written van ready for week two, City set-up. This week Phil taught me how to go about finding potential customers, how to approach, what to say with the overall aim being to provide them with a free repair demo to show our repair equipment, capabilities and customer service. Phil also worked with me in repairing damaged screens for the first commercial customers gained during this week.
Phil has helped me over the years not just on a business level but also on a personal level. He
has supported me during my periods of self-doubt and whilst caring for my parents through ill health and all the way through the loss of both my parents.
Being a SuperGlass franchisee, you are never placed under pressure from the franchisor,
nothing is rushed, you go at your own pace and you are able to grow your business to a level
that you feel comfortable with.
It is now over 4 years since I started my franchise here in North Wales and I am still repairing screens for the same clients I gained during the week two. I have gained a great reputation and I am consistently receiving 5* google reviews for my work. I respond to enquiries quickly and try to get the repair done either same day or next day, if possible. I take pride in doing the job right, to achieve the best repair possible and to explain the repair process to customers who want to see how the damage is repaired. This is what all our customers want... great repairs and great customer service. Phil, Chris and other franchisees you can call upon to provide advice and technical support so that you always have someone to assist with any challenge you face. As well as owning the North Wales LL postcode franchise territory, I have recently invested in the neighbouring Chester CH postcode territory.
I am looking at staying as a franchisee with SuperGlass for the rest of my working life as I enjoy my job and it gives me the freedom of being my own boss. It is hard work some days, especially when working outdoors in all weather conditions, but I wouldn’t want to go back to working for someone else.
An SGR franchise is a fantastic opportunity to own your own business in an industry where windscreen companies would rather replace than repair. As a repair only company we will always try to save glass and by doing so save our customers money.

I’ve always dreamed of running my own business to give my family and I a better work life balance but I never knew where to start and lacked the confidence to take that leap of faith in going it alone.
I then came across SGR which gave me the opportunity of being my own boss but to also feel part of a team and a brand that is growing fast across the UK, This quickly removed any of the fear of going it alone.
With a professional proven structure for success and all the ongoing support I require I have gained the confidence to turn my franchise into a success in a very short space of time and I haven’t looked back since!

My name is André Chaves and I'm the Director of SGR Manchester. I have been working with SGR for the last 6 years. I started as an employee in London and then in Manchester over three years ago. I made an approach to buy the business which was accepted. I took over the business and it was the best thing I have ever done.
I am a fully independent business owner, servicing some of the biggest fleets, transport
companies and car dealers in the North West and UK. As a franchisee we are provided with the best equipment and resins to make first class repairs.
SGR UK is a very familiar company which gives full support regarding all the aspects of the franchise. Phil and the staff provide a 5 star service. Obviously, there were ups and downs due to the Pandemic and also the current economic situation but due to the high quality service we provide, we keep growing and developing strongly. I am so happy with my decision to invest in Specialist Glass Repair.

SGR….. An extreme life challenge that I’m glad to have taken head on!
My business has flourished because of the SGR business model, its training, methods and mentoring. Advice is readily available from the UK team and indeed from the wider network community of franchisees.
I am proud to be able to declare that I can say with confidence that I am operating as one of the top 5 owner operators in the country. I am also proud of the outstanding repair quality that I am able to deliver to my many customers I have been called ‘A Glass Magician’ for accomplishing and performing repairs that customers are simply amazed by and that they believed could not be repaired in the first place. My customers understand that the glass I repair is non recyclable and that the service that I deliver saves both time and replacement costs. Furthermore, saving glass with quality repairs has a massive positive impact on the planet and its environment.
If you're thinking of joining a brand such as SGR it’s important to go in with your eyes wide open. I can assure you that with the support, equipment & products that SuperGlass provides and with a willingness to learn and some determination and drive you can make a real success. This “Glass Guy” (as I’m commonly known) is living and working a pretty incredible life.

My name's Noel and over the years I've had many different jobs but working as a glass technician with SGR UK has been the most productive and enjoyable.
The training was so good covering every aspect of the work, I felt ready and confident to take on the tasks head-on.
There's friendly help and advice on hand if ever I need guidance, so if I have a concern I always have the team to fall back on who have years of experience.
I genuinely mean it when I say, my only regret is that I didn't join the team earlier.

"I am thrilled to share my experience with SGR. From the moment I engaged with Phil, it was clear that they are industry leaders in Windscreen Repairs, with a strong business model. Their comprehensive approach to franchising, combined with their deep understanding of the market, was instrumental in my choice of joining the team.
SGR offered unparalleled support throughout every stage of the process, from initial concept and business model development to training, recruitment and ongoing operational guidance. Their expertise and attention to detail ensured that I was well-prepared to launch and scale my franchise successfully.
What truly sets SGR apart is their commitment to customer service at all levels. Phil took the time to understand my unique needs and advised accordingly, providing valuable insights and practical solutions. His dedication to helping franchisee's succeed is evident in the results achieved.
Thanks to SGR, I’ve been able to build a robust and growing franchise area. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to venture into the franchising world or enhance their existing franchise operations."
